Manners, Please!

Tonight while I was addictedly watching brain cell draining television, I came across Millionaire Matchmaker. The premise revolves around Patti--a matchmaker--and her helping rich clients find "the one." Yes, it's shallow, but Patti solicits advice that more people--namely, men--should pay attention to. 

One man on the show didn't believe that opening the car door for women was necessary. And while I sometimes think that a few strands of DNA from Gloria Steinem were slipped into my family tree, I firmly believe chivalry shouldn't cease to exist.

Just the other day, my mom opened the door before entering a bank, and a man exiting shuffled past her and didn't bother to hold the door for her. Sometimes, very rarely, people deserve a dirty look.  

A Wiseman Once Said . . . Good manners are always in good taste--no matter what decade or income bracket you're in.
