A Formal Affair

After my friend, Courtney, posted an article about her wedding china today, I felt inspired to chime in as well!

I've always been a fan of formal dining. Growing up, formal china wasn't a big deal but eating at nice restaurants and attending dinner parties were. So over the years I've come to love love love formal dining pieces.

Originally, I had something much girlier picked out for our wedding china. But once Ryan got into everything the flowers and ribbons went out the window when it came to deciding which china pattern to choose.

Below is our wedding china we picked out at Bering's, with the insightful help of my mom.





I'd never thought about mixing different sets of patterns before. But after I found three different lines I just couldn't live without, it became clear that the only solution would be to combine them.

crystal, china, and everything else I don't own

I recently attended a bridal shower this past Sunday for a friend about to be married. It got me thinking about showers and how fun it would be to host one for an engaged friend--except that I don't own a home, can't afford china, and have no other engaged friends. Here are some of my ideas to make it dazzling and fabulous.
